do you enjoy the wonderful summer? here with me is great – the weather is fantastic, soon i will planning our family vacation, but until then we enjoy the european cup and olympics. i am very proud to say that our girl athlete ivet lalova won a gold medal at the 100 meters race. hooray! also, the kid is on vacation, almost every minute we chase in parks, gardens or visiting in the summer cottage of my parents, and as a whole – we are fully devoted to outdoor fun, which is very cool. however, these days i thought it was time to make a birthday card for a little missy, so i stole a few hours for this activity and, voilla, here is what i got:
i am a big fan of ‘shabby chic’ and vintage style, so my project is constructed in this style. here’s a closer look and some more details
i choose for my project this wonderful stamp of my favorite designer elizabeth bell (willow with gingerbread heart, woj release). frankly, imabsolutely in love with this stamp and always looking for an opportunity to use it in my cards 🙂 i stamped this lovely willow on kraft paper and then colored her with derwent coloursoft pencils. i ve blended colors with white spirit, and put some bright accents on hair, dress, heart and ribbon with glitter-pen. i made a freckles on willow`s face with white pen, i think she looks really sweet 🙂
i wanted to achieve an antique effect of image, so i did distress the edges of the paper with very fine sandpaper and causing white acrylic paint, then moved in dilute liquid pearls. i dont know if it is sufficiently visible in the picture but get a very delicate effect. i put a little cheesecloth and made a frame for a portrait with contour scissors, then i made distress with `versa colours` ink pads and sewn the details with gold silk thread.
i play around with sandpaper to make distress and the rest of the background, here also added liquid pearls and made decorative wavy stitching around the edges of the paper. the doily and the beautiful lace was hidden treasures from my stash
i added gorgeous flowers and made some flowers and branches with my `woodware` punches.
i hope you enjoy my humble creation! 🙂 with this project, i will play for:
thank you for having stopped here:) i wish you really great summer:)
