a bit of vintage, a bit of shabby chic

hi there!

today i will show you the card i made for friend of mine – a few days later her granddaughter turns serious age 2 years, so i decided to do something special.

i had some pointers for my project. daughter in law of my friend loves pink, and, moreover, she is in love with the flowers – her small garden is a work of art. addition, the card was a gift from grandma, so i thought it would be a bit of  vintage, a bit of  shabby chic. believe it or not, but i feel that while working on the project poses, all materials, paper and decorations just jumped into my handsр i made this card only for 4 hours.  here’s what i got:

here is some more pix and details:

i used one of my favorite stamps – `willow with todler, woj`. as usual, i stamped willow on kraft paper and colored her with `derwent coloursoft` pencils. i add some glossy acents with glitter gell- pen. i made a frame around the picture with corner stamps, and colored the brunches with geli-pens. i made distress the edges of the paper and added acrylic paint to achieve an antique look.

as i said, the card recipient loves her garden, so i added flowers, roses and butterfly, which i did with my x-cut punch

the gorgeous ribbon was a hidden treasure of my stash. the color is lovely – dusty pink. i made flower of pearl beads for the center of the knot, and added a hand-made decorative pin in the same colors to match the ribbon.

i used a scrap of papers – a real jam of colors, with no names 😀 i used doily from stash too, the gorgeous piece of lace found in local hardware.

i hope you like my humble creation!

with this card i will play for:

whiff of joy challenge – sketch

moving along the times – pink, pearly & pretty celebration

cards crafter`s circle – children

divas by desigh – 44 -anything goes

well, thank you for having stopped here! have a nice summer!
